Penta Benda
This a a heavy shawl/cape worked in triangular modules joined as you go.
Design lends itself to knitting with gradient yarns.
Design lends itself to “ad finitum” knitting, since each module grows from a point. This also means the pattern is essentially gauge-less.
Fabric uses ribbles and a couple versa lace techniques.
Shawl is reversible, allowing for creative styling options.
Techniques you already know:
1×1 ribbing; knit 1, purl 1
cables
decreasing — knit 2 together (k2tog)
yarn over
Kitchener grafting (optional)
Techniques you may be learning:
Italian cast-on (just two stitches)
adding two stitches with Italian cast-on
decreasing — slip slip purl 2 together up through the back of
the loop (ssp)
double yarn-over
swapping stitches

This e-booklet file is half-sheet formatted with all the pages in normal order including the blank inside covers. If you have a smaller tablet or you read off your smart phone, you shouldn’t have to zoom as much. You can also print this size if you print on 5.5 x 8 inch paper — i.e. half-sheet. If you’d like a center-fold booklet, use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and choose the “booklet” option when you print to regular 8.5 x 11 paper.
