Cascading layers of petals flow across these highly textured cottage style hot pads. The crochet pattern instructions come in 4 sizes, including a 9”x13” hot pad for casserole dishes.

Materials Needed:
4mm (G) hook, or hook needed to obtain gauge
90, 130, 170, 400 yards #4 worsted weight 100% Cotton yarn in colors of your choice. Pictured is I love this Cotton in “Warm Blush”, and “Parchment”, and Mainstays 100% Cotton Yarn in “Brown Stone Beige”.

Stitches Used:
ch = shain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
BPsc = back post single crochet
BPhdc = back post half double crochet
Additional Terms:
st/sts = stitch/stitches
prev = previous
sk = skip
Measurements:
Approximately 5x5”, 6”x6”, 7”x7”, and 9”x13”
Gauge:
17 sc in 4”. Gauge is not especially important for this pattern.
Additional Notes:
-ch 1 at beginning of round does not count as a stitch.
-These hot pads are crocheted starting at what will be the top of the piece.
-New rounds are always started in the same stitch you joined into. this will keep your seam going straight up the side of the hot pad.
-These hot pad patterns eat up a lot of yarn. This is purposeful and adds to their thickness and functionality.
