Pepperoni the Rat just loves pizza! This knitting pattern includes instructions to make the rat and a pizza slice, and the pizza pattern incorporates a little Fair-isle colour-work.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns. Most pieces are worked on single pointed needles (not in the round) and two DPNs are used to knit i-cord tubes for the rat’s tail and pizza crust.

NEEDLES
A pair each of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 4).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, buttons and felt fabric scraps for eyes.

SIZES
One size only - The rat is 19cm tall (standing, from toes to tops of ears), and the pizza is 12.5cm long.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
