Perles de Plume
Note: The Knitted Lights shown in the main photo is a pattern from Leila Raven.
Design
Perles de Plume is a shawl-dana, a loose and flowy cowl that wears as a bandana but drapes and falls gracefully over the shoulders like a shawl, without the hassle of having to pin it to keep it in place. This is the perfect accessory to top off a low V-neck shirt for extra coverage without a lot of bulk!
Pattern Highlights
Perles de Plume features a pretty plume stitch separated by bands of purl stitches. The cowl begins by working back and forth in a crescent shape, using simple yarn overs. Every right side row is increased by 2 stitches and every wrong side row is increased by 4. The piece is then joined and worked in the round. A picot bind off finishes off the cowl, highlighting the delicate scallops in the lace. A strand of fingering weight and lace weight mohair are held together throughout the entire cowl. The pattern is charted and also includes written instructions.
