Perrine is an easy to memorize, textured shawl with clustered stitches that are evocative of crocheted granny squares. It is excellent scrunched up under your coat in winter, or open and draped over your shoulders in sunnier seasons. Perrine is perfect for using up sock yarn scraps in a multitude of colours, or that special fingering weight yarn you’ve been holding onto.

This triangular shawl is worked from the bottom point upwards, with double increases at each end of every RS row. Do not cut yarn when alternating colours; instead, carry the yarn up the side of the work. Work the beginning and end of each row as loosely as possible to ensure that the edges will stretch.
