The stitch count for the lace pattern between the stitch markers varies. It decreases on rows 3, 4 and 5 and returns to normal on row 6.

Errata:
Stitch count after row 3 is 57 as you increase 6 stitches (by working 6 yarn overs) and decrease 4 stitches in the lace sections.
