This cozy, oversized cardigan is the perfect project for you if you like being wrapped in a soft and comforting cloud!

It features an interesting “box” pattern made with a technique that may bring to mind mosaic crochet, but rest assured—it’s much simpler than authentic mosaic crochet!

The overall funky style is achieved thanks to the color combination, as well as the glamorous and trendy puff sleeves.

The body consists of 2 front pieces and a back piece. It is crocheted lengthways, bottom-up, meaning you crochet one large piece and then seam the front and back panels together to form the openings for the sleeves. The sleeves are then worked in the round directly onto the cardigan.

A decorative motif is crafted using surface crochet, and two pockets are added to give extra coziness to the final garment.

★This pattern is “made to measure”: it requires the use of a tape measure and few calculations. It doesn’t provide a specific stitch count for each size as, I believe, everyone has a different and UNIQUE body.
I designed it to be completely made to measure and suitable for everyone, no matter what size, gender, and body shape HOWEVER, it is true that each body is different, and there may be variations in how the pattern fits from person to person.
You will find my testers’ annotations and my instructions to help you along the process.

The pattern has a lot of pictures to clarify the written instructions.

-----> Fun facts about the Phoenix, whose story has inspired the name for this special pattern.
In ancient Greek folklore, a phoenix was a mythical long-lived bird that cyclically regenerates.
It is said to be reborn from its ashes and for this reason, The Phoenix symbolizes birth, death, and rebirth, as well as eternity, strength, and renewal.
