Pia the Sugar Plum Fairy
Pia is a dreamy little fairy. Nothing bothers her or is too much, she is simply happy and ready to make your wishes come true.
Pia is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. My Pia the Sugar Plum Fairy is approximately 28cm tall (11 inches).
You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).
Please contact me immediately if you have purchased this pattern thinking it is an actual toy as I do not process refunds after the PDF file has been downloaded.
You will need:
- 2.75mm hook/D-3 (US)
- 8ply yarn/DK or Light Worsted > 50g yarn in PINK, less than 50g in NUDE, LILAC, BLUSH and APRICOT
- BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker
Notes:
- A yarn with no stretch is best for amigurumi, I ordinarily use cotton or cotton blend.
- Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round (unless it says otherwise).
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- For this pattern, the following yarns were used: o NUDE = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 403 Champagne White o LILAC = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 442 Dusty Rose o PINK = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 453 Ballet Pink o BLUSH = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 451 Bubblegum Pink o APRICOT = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 409 Light Camel
- I have embroidered the eyes for this pattern but you may choose to use safety eyes. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
