This cute-as-the-dickens hat features a textured half double crochet crown, contrast-color yarnover slip stitch rounds, and a wide band of slanting rope cables and single-loop cables. Contrast chain-stitch embellishment gives a delightful rick-rack effect, and the optional two-color chained pompom adds extra whimsy.

Hat is worked from the top down in spiral rounds. Choose solid yarns with good contrast for best effect.

This pattern is part of the book Live Loop Cables in Crochet, which uses an innovative technique to create I-cord like cables on the fabric surface. Patterns were tech edited by Amy Daraghy (GreenHook on Rav).

Thanks for viewing, and happy crocheting!
