Pidu
Fall in love with Pidu. With its geometric colour-work motif, the two-tone hat by designer Anne Sievert beautifully combines the Moods colours Blue Whale and Pufferfish. Knitted with our Big Merino Hug, Pidu provides cosy warmth and a casual nonchalance with its rather loose fit. And as a little extra, the wide brim has a dainty edge in the bright contrast colour. Pidu is an excellent introduction to colour-work knitting. Or a nice variation between two bigger knitting projects.
Pidu is worked from the bottom up. You start at the brim with a long-tail tubular cast-on in the contrast colour and continue with the 2x2 ribbing. The stitch count is then increased for the body to start the colour-work pattern. Centred double decreases are included in the colour work chart to finish the hat with a beautiful crown shaping.
The year 2022 is a very special one for us - we look back on 10 years of Rosy Green Wool. Time to remember and also to celebrate. Our collection this year is therefore called Decade. The individual designs honour our anniversary with their names in different languages. Pidu means party in Estonian.
