Pie Chart
Although this summer we are experiencing high temperatures it is nevertheless a good time to relax, travel, have nice cools baths, etc. Now all you need is a project that is easy and fun to knit, and small enough to take away with you wherever you go. In other words: You need Pie Chart!
The Pie Chart shawlette is a one skein or two skein wonder, specially created for hand dyed yarns like Three Irish Girls Adorn and Adorn Luxe, Wollmeise, Socks That Rock, Austermann Handpainted, and all of the beautiful indie dyer skeins that are dyed in the dip dye or paint dye fashion.
You will need at least 100g / 3.5oz of fingering yarn for a neckerchief and about 200g / 7oz for a shawlette. But you can always use more, or even knit it with a lace yarn to create a large shawl. Also, you could use sport or dk as the size of your Pie Chart depends upon the number of modules you knit.
Yes, it is a modular knit, but all of the pieces will be joined as you go, so no seaming is involved. You will find ample tutorials with technical advice, including a tutorial on how to purl backwards, which comes in handy with every project that includes very short rows in garter stitch. But not to worry, the latter is purely optional.
Pie Chart is a piece of cake! Seriously, this is the perfect project for when you are traveling, watching movies, or whenever you are with others and want to knit something which is easy that doesn’t require a lot of attention. After reading the instructions and knitting the first four modules you will be able to knit the rest without glancing at your pattern. However, if you feel safer with your instructions at hand, you will find all the modules described in written and charted form.
If you would like to knit this at some point in the future, don’t hesitate to get your pattern now as this weekend (4th and 5th of August – EST) it is on sale for 25% off the original price of $4.99. So grab it while you can!!!
Happy knitting
