Inspired by the cool, crisp colors of a winter in Michigan, Pine Mountain is a gathering of the pleasing aroma of pine from the blue spruce, the rich flavor of a sugar plum and the chill of lake-effect snow. A perfect reminder of how much we need a simple-to-style shawl that’s easy to make and even easier to wear!

Pine Mountain is knit from tip to edge, increasing every right side row to create an asymmetrical triangle shape that will keep you warm and cozy.

YARN
DK weight yarn in the following yardages: Approx 260 yds / 238 m for MC, approx 250 yds / 229 m for CC1 and CC2.

Sample featured in: Legacy DK (100% Shaniko Wool; 260 yds / 238 m per 100 g) 1 skein in each of 3 colors: Lake Effect (MC) / Blue Spruce (CC1) / Sugar Plum (CC2)

(You can also hold your favorite Plucky Fingering weight yarn together with Spiffy Lace to achieve a similar gauge. Note that the yardage required will be for EACH yarn.)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
53.25” / 135 cm wide x 26” / 66 cm deep

GAUGE
18 sts x 36 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Garter stitch, blocked

NEEDLES
Needle listed is suggested.
Always take time to swatch.

US 8 (5.00 mm) 32” / 80 cm circular (circ) needles or size necessary to obtain gauge

TOOLS
Tapestry needle

NOTES
When knit to gauge, you will use almost all of MC, and have approximately 10g leftover of CC1 and CC2. To ensure you won’t run out of yardage, you can work fewer Garter Only Rows. However, this will result in a smaller shawl.
