Pink Agave Shawl
This is a flexible shawl and can be made with a range of yardages. It was designed in one of the Noro “Dino Eggs”, Noro Akari (523 yards of worsted) but there are instructions to use a single skein of 400 yards of fingering if you like to do that.
I always see those pretty Noro Dino Eggs in local yarn stores and just wanted a one skein “pick up and knit” pattern for them that shows off the beautiful color combinations with some texture.
Contrary to rumor, no cats have been starved at my house.
Materials
Two options
One of of the Noro “Dinosaur Eggs” (or shawl balls) available in many local yarn shops. Shown in Noro Akari (worsted weight, 528 yards/400m) in Color #20/Wakayama. You may also use a typical 400 yard skein of fingering/sock yarn for this shawl. If you do this, size down one needle size. Directions are given in the pattern for yarn with less yardage.
Other Noro yarns that will make a larger shawl with a single dino egg: Kakigori, Uchiwa, Yukata, and Tsubame
US 7/4.5 mm 24 or 32”/60 or 80 cm circular needle or size needed to attain gauge
Final Measurements
Noro Akari Shawl: 15”/38cm at deepest point by 67”/170cm along neck edge.
