My Pink Lemon Limeade Pillow is my fourth ice cream shop inspired pillow. Since I always crochet with ice cream colors, this summer, I have been making some pillows that are inspired by an old-fashioned ice cream shop! This pillow is inspired by some of the drinks they sell: lemonade, pink lemonade, and limeade.
It was a stash busting project for me as I used three different brands of cotton DK weight yarn for it! I used Patons Grace yarn: 2 in natural (cream), 2 in lotus (hot pink), and 1 in blush (light pink). I also used one ball of Phildar Phil Coton 3 in pistache (lime green), and one skein of Cascade Ultra Pima in sunshine (yellow). There were leftovers of all of the colors. However, any DK weight yarn will work!
The front side of the pillow is made by using join as you go to join circle motifs. There is a chart for the motif, as well as a chart and pictures to explain this joining process. The back of the pillow is simply a flat circle. I made the back hot pink to give the pillow a pop of color. Five buttons allow the pillow case to be taken on and off of the insert. There are step by step pictures included throughout the written pattern to help demonstrate all of the steps!
