Aha - me hearties! Shiver me timbers, batten down the hatches, and other pirate clichés, it’s Pirate Pete! Worked predominantly in stockinette with knitted stripes, Pete also has a knitted cutlass for pirate skirmishes. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the pirate is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.75mm single pointed knitting needles (US 5)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; up to 25g in each colour

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and a skull shaped button to decorate the hat.

One size only - Pirate Pete is 15cm tall (including the hat).

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, knitting stripes, and seaming to finish.
