PIRUETT
Piruett, or pirouette in English, resembles the tutu of a ballet dancer. Who didn’t dream of a really colourful tutu to spin around in as a kid?! Piruett is ideal to wear as a beautiful poncho-like shoulder cover or as a shawl around your neck. This is a shawl that really makes you happy!
The shawl is knit into a half-circle, starting from one half of the upper edge. Short-rows create its rounded shape, and it eventually ends at the other half of the upper edge. Decide for yourself whether you want a colourful base colour with white buds, or the other way around. The entire shawl is knit in garter stitch. This makes it a very simple project that anyone can execute, as long as you know how to make knit stitches, count, and how to slip stitches. Piruett is perfect for your handspun yarn in various colours, combined with a plain white or solid colour yarn. Or perhaps a bunch of mini skeins as the contrast colour?
Piruett is written for a lovely gradient sport-weight yarn from the Swedish company Ullcentrum. Ullcentrum was established in 2008 and produces yarn and other wool products from only Swedish wool, from breeds such as finewool and Gotland sheep. It is available in a wide range of colours, and most notably the lovely gradient yarns. To order yarn, visit Ullcentrum.com.
