Winding cables that taper around the leg call to mind the rivers, trails and terraces of Pisaq in Peru’s Sacred Valley.
This unisex sock design is knit from the toe up and available in 4 sizes. It plays nicely with solid color, tonal or kettle-dyed yarns.
Cables are charted.
Sizes: 7½ (8, 8½, 9)” /19 (20.5, 21.5, 22.5) cm finished foot circumference; foot length and height customizable. It is recommended that socks be worn with 10% negative ease.
Sample shown is 8” / 20.5 cm
Yarn: Knit Picks Hawthorne Fingering Kettle Dye, 100g /357 yards 3.5 oz / 326 m; 1 (1, 2, 2) skeins. Sample shown in Serpent.
Or 350-450 yards / 320–410 m fingering weight yarn.
If you prefer taller socks, you may need additional yarn.
Needles: US 1 / 2.25 mm; 2 24” / 60 cm circular needles, DPNs, or 40” / 100 cm circular needle, depending on your preferred sock knitting method; or size to obtain gauge
Gauge: 32 sts and 36 rows = 4” / 10 cm in st st
Notions: Stitch marker, yarn needle, cable needle.
