This pixie hat is just the perfect style for this time of year. Crisp mornings, falling leavings and warm fires bring images of my little ones cavorting outdoors like wood sprites adorned with these pixie hats in every autumn color- rust, chocolate and butterscotch. And when they’re tired out of jumping into giant piles of leaves they come inside cheeks flushed, pulling off their pixie hats and warming up with mugs of hot chocolate by the fire.
This fast little hat packs a powerful punch, with rows and rows of texture. Just two stitches create this beautiful hood. I love a pattern that I can memorize after the first repeat and work on while life is going on around me. These are the patterns I love to create and crochet, because that means I get to crochet that much more.
The Pixie Spice Hat is a crocheted rectangle, then folded in half and seamed to form the hat. Edging is added to the front opening and a button & loop at the bottom to keep it secure on your wood sprite’s head. This pattern is offered in sizes NB-Adult so go ahead and make all the Pixie Spice Hats in all the sizes and all the colors!
