Plaid Scarf
From Beautiful Crochet for Heads, Hands and Toes: “Here’s a scrap yarn project that doesn’t look like one! All you do is crochet a simple mesh grid in one color, then weave through as many contrast colors as you like to make a rich, soft fabric.”
Materials:
Approx. 7 oz (200g) DK wool in camel (A)
Approx 1 oz (25g) fine mohair in each of black (B) and cream (C)
Approx 1 oz (25g) DK-weight mohair in each of Orange (D) and ochre (E)
US F5 (4.00 mm) crochet hook & tapestry needle
The yarn amounts are approximate as the length of the yarns varies with the thickness. You should use a DK weight yarn for the crochet, but for the weaving yarn, you can combine as many strands as you need to fill the holes in the grid.
