This fun scarf pattern is much easier to make than it looks, and does not involve complicated colorwork techniques. Each row is a knit in a single color, and the vertical stripes are crocheted on later. If you can knit, purl, and slip stitch (crochet) you can make this! See pattern for comments on gauge

I learned this technique in a class called “Mad About Plaid” by Michelle Hunter of Knit Purl Hunter. She’s an excellent teacher and I highly recommend her classes and tutorials!
