Looking for the perfect knitted T-shirt? Here it is! The Plain Matter Tee is a modern, relaxed short-sleeved knitted T-shirt with saddle shoulder construction. Finished with beautiful details, the garment is completed with double-folded ribbing at the sleeves, hem, and neckline. Knit in fingering-weight yarn, this tee is perfect for year-round wear—just like your favorite T-shirt!

The Plain Matter Tee is worked seamlessly top-down, beginning with wide shoulder sections that form the saddle shoulders. The neckline is then shaped using short rows for an excellent fit after picking up stitches from the shoulder panels. After the front and back are worked flat, the work then continues in the round from the armholes down to the hem. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and shaped for a good fit, first using short rows, after which the sleeves are completed in the round. The neckline, sleeve cuffs, and hem are finished with double-folded ribbing.

Gauge:
10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” = 26 sts x 34 rows/rounds in stockinette stitch with 2,5 mm / US 1.5 needles after blocking. Change needle size in order to achieve the right gauge.

Yarn:
Approx. 1000 (1100, 1200, 1300, 1500) (1600, 1800, 2000, 2200) meters / 1100 (1250, 1350, 1450, 1650) (1750, 2000, 2200, 2450) yards of fingering-weight yarn.

Sample knitted with: 5 (6, 6, 7, 8) (8, 9, 10, 11) balls of De Rerum Albertine (90 % wool, 10 % silk, 200 m / 220 yds / 50 g), in colourway Orgeot.

Needles:
2,5 mm / US 1.5 40 cm / 16” and 60 cm / 24” or 80 cm /32” circular needles (or according to gauge)

Kauniilla yksityiskohdilla silattu paita viimeistellään kaksinkerroin käännetyillä hihojen, helman ja pääntien resoreilla. Fingering-vahvuisesta langasta neulottu paita sopii käytettäväksi vuoden ympäri – aivan kuten lempi t-paitasi!

Plain Matter Tee neulotaan saumattomasti ylhäältä alas aloittaen leveistä olkasaumoista, joiden jälkeen muotoillaan pääntie lyhennetyin kerroksin hyvin istuvaksi. Olkasauman toiselta puolelta poimitaan silmukat etuosan muotoilemiseksi ennen vartalon yhdistämistä. Työtä jatketaan suljettuna neuleena kädenteiltä helmaan saakka. Hihoille poimitaan silmukat ja ne muotoillaan hyvin istuviksi ensin lyhennetyillä kerroksilla, jonka jälkeen hihat neulotaan loppuun suljettuna neuleena. Pääntie, hihansuut ja helma viimeistellään kaksinkerroin käännetyillä resoreilla.
