Plimoth
Working on this sweater at the start of a New England winter inspired me to prioritize warmth, so I chose a small, all-over, squishy cable pattern for the base of the body and sleeves. The bolder cable pattern in the center lent itself to inserting a V-neck split in its main cable. I selected a neutral-colored yarn to ensure that the sweater could be worn with bottoms of any color throughout winter. When the piece was finished, it reminded me of peanut butter fudge, which I purchase on my annual visits to the seaside town of Plymouth. I chose the traditional spelling of “Plimoth,” which is still commonly used around the town.
