Polka Jacket for a Lady by Mrs. I. J. (Jane) Gaugain

Polka Jacket for a Lady

This pattern is available for free.

It was intended to be made in a coloured yarn with a white contrast edge at the bottom and front edges as well as a white collar and cuffs.

The body is knit from the bottom-up in one piece until it separates for fronts and back at the armhole. The front and back shoulders are then sewn together, and the collar is sewn on after.

The sleeves are knit horizontally wrist-to-shoulder with some short-row shaping at the shoulder and folded-up contrast cuffs at the wrist. The sleeves are then sewn onto the armholes.

Cords with tassels are used to close the collar and waist.
