Pomball: Ridge
Now your pompoms can be as individual as your hats! Pomball: Ridge is full of energy. When the yarn is this expressive, why fight it? Just give simplicity free range and top it with a large, whimsical, button-trimmed pomball. Three ridge sections dominate the hat, but a plain section at the back lets the slouch do its thing.
Pattern has written instructions and includes a photo tutorial for attaching the pomball. Pomball comes in two sizes.

Approximate Yardage: 65 (110, 150, 160, 170) yds / 60 (100, 140, 145, 155) m (bulky weight) Yardage is calculated with 15% security. Largest sizes will use entire skein. You may wish to buy 2 skeins of recommended yarn to ensure you have enough for your project.
All sizes but the smallest are written to be slouchy hats. The 16” / 40cm size is written to be a beanie. This is based on my experiences as a mother trying to keep hats on heads in car seats and strollers.
Needles: U.S. 9, 10.5 / 5.5, 6.5mm for knitting in the round (magic loop OR short circular + dpns OR just dpns) or size needed to get gauge, and U.S. 7 / 4.5mm DPNs or 2 sizes smaller than hat for pomball
Notions: darning needle, small amount of stuffing, 3/4” / 2cm button, thread for sewing on button. (For safety reasons, don’t put a button on the Baby size.)
This pattern has been test knit.
