Pomona mittens
I named this pattern “Pomona” because of my love of both the Harry Potter Universe and classical mythology. Many of the names in the Harry Potter series have their roots in mythology, and this is no exception.
Pomona Sprout is the Herbology teacher at Hogwarts. She is described as cheerful, loyal, positive and just. She is a very safe space at the school and personally I love the way she encourages Neville Longbottom in her class.
In roman mythology, Pomona was the goddess of fruits, gardens and orchards. I can’t be sure if the name inspired the pattern or vice-versa, but I do know they belong together!
Thank you for purchasing my pattern. I hope you will enjoy knitting my mittens, and that they will keep your hands warm on cold days.
Love, Anna.
