This is an easy piece to slip on and wear over anything, perfect for those in-between seasons (at least in my climate) when a parka is too heavy but an extra layer is required. It’s a quick knit that is stylish and never fails to garner compliments.

I originally make one out of a single, bulky gray yarn. But, as noted and shown to left, you can make it in two lighter yarns, worked together. The latter was a happy discovery for me, since I was not satisfied owning just one.

XS–S (M–L, 1X–2X)
The models were knit in the middle size.
Circumference at bust 60 (68, 76)” (152 172, 193cm)
Length at centre Front (from neck edge to hem) 23” (58.5cm)
Length at centre Back 23” (58.5cm)

IF YOU USE A SINGLE BULKY YARN, you will need approx 740 (820, 980) yds.

IF YOU USE 2 YARNS HELD TOGETHER, you will need approx 1480 (1640, 1960) total yds. (These could be in slightly different versions of the same colour, as for my green version.) I also used a larger needle for the doubled version, as noted in the pattern.

Because most of the photos are of the green, doubled yarn version, and because that yarn (Cascade 220) is readily available in a variety of colours, I recommend that yarn and say that the pattern is knit with 2 yarns held together. And the yardage shown on the Ravelry page is for that option. As noted above, you will use half that amount if you find a heavy yarn that will get gauge.
