Pooch Pullover
Celebrate National Dog Day (August 26) or any day with this fun project! This doggo sweater is knit from the neck downward. Though there are breed examples listed for each size, I recommend measuring your dog before beginning to ensure you’re selecting the best size for her/him. Measure your dog’s chest, and choose a size based on this. If your best bud is in between sizes, go to the next size up.
Just like people, the size and shape of your dog is unique. These instructions are as “standardized” as they can be, but you may find that you need to make adjustments as you go to suit your dog’s unique size. But try not to fret too much. Knitting is stretchy, and measurements don’t need to be exact!
The sweater examples shown incorporate stripes, slip stitch patterns, stranded knitting – the sky is really the limit here! You can plug-and play most any type of stitch pattern. If you’re planning to use a stitch pattern (other than stripes), I recommend choosing something with a four stitch repeat, as the stitch counts for all sizes begin and end with multiples of four. In the instance of a repeat that is a multiple of 4 sts + 1, simply increase one stitch after the neck ribbing, and adjust all further stitch
counts by one throughout the rest of the pattern.
