Pool of Light Blanket
Pool of Light Blanket is a soothing Tunisian crochet lap blanket designed to showcase the quiet beauty of simple stitches. Worked in fingering-weight yarn, this pattern was created to be rhythmic and relaxing—ideal for crocheting without constant reference to the instructions.
The body of the blanket uses just three foundational Tunisian stitches—Tunisian simple stitch, Tunisian purl stitch, and Tunisian knit stitch—allowing the texture and colour changes of the yarn to shine. A small section of bobbles adds subtle visual interest without disrupting the calm, meditative feel of the project.
The blanket is worked on the diagonal, with the corner turned using a straightforward increase, making the construction easy to understand and enjoyable to work. The sample shown uses one Scheepjes Whirl, with a matching Whirlette used for the edging.
The size is easily adjustable: work additional rows of the Honeycomb section to create a larger blanket, bearing in mind that extra yarn will be required. If you prefer to use a single Whirl only, simply reduce the Honeycomb section to ensure enough yarn remains for the edging. Pattern is written in English and uses UK terms.
