The Poppy Throw is a cheerful granny square blanket inspired by the bright colours of summer gardens. It features my Poppy Square paired with the coordinating Poppette Square—a simple, quick-to-make accent square that beautifully complements the larger design while adding balance and rhythm to the blanket.

Unlike my usual Join-As-You-Go (JAYGO) method, where the blanket grows in back-and-forth strips, this design is joined by working around the blanket. As each round is added, the larger Poppy Squares alternate with rounds of the smaller Poppette Squares, creating a unique layout that grows outward from the centre. The result is a beautiful flowing arrangement of squares, all joined as you go, with no sewing required at the end. Whether you follow my colour placement or create a palette all your own, the Poppy Throw is a relaxing and rewarding project that comes together one beautiful square at a time.

This blanket pattern eBook is a 33-page PDF and includes full step by step written instructions, detailed diagrams, charts, and images for the motifs used in this throw, along with the join method.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner - The stitches are common, the join is where things get a little more interesting
