There’s nothing like a sun hat to welcome in the warm weather, and your porch goose agrees! This pattern includes instructions for both a sun hat and bucket hat (the “blossom hat”), with two styles of flower appliques and a sun applique.

My porch goose crochet patterns were designed and tested to fit a goose with a head circumference of approximately 8” (around the head where the hat will sit). Most specifically, these designs were made for the 24” tall ceramic porch goose available in Joann stores in early 2025.

This pattern is of easy difficulty and is 13 pages long. G (4.25mm), and E (3.50mm) hooks, and worsted weight yarn (65 yards for sun hat, 35 yards for bucket hat, plus additional yardage for accents) are required to complete this project. This pattern includes two options for attaching the hat securely to the goose: crocheted ties or 1/4” elastic, sewn into place.
