Portiere Shawl
Portiere is another word for a drape placed over a doorway. Though this shawl is best worn by a person, it is named so because of the lovely drape of the fabric. The sections shine with the gradient offered by Ava Lu yarns, but this shawl is also beautiful in solids, speckles, or by using alternating colors.
Portiere is a half-circle shaped shawl is knit from the top-down beginning with a garter tab cast on. The shawl is divided into sections separated by eyelet rows. Each section features a different stitch. To accommodate individual preferences, each stitch pattern is referenced with charts on a separate page. Finally, an I-cord bind off creates a simple, but neat edge to compliment the texture of the pattern.
