An easy to make colourful snuggle blanket with lots of “granny” stitches and other easy stitches, ideal for using up all those oddments of yarn. A granny stitch is 3 trebles in the same space or stitch. The blanket is made up of just 2 different squares - 4 large squares (all same colour sequence) and 14 small squares based on the same pattern around it. For the blanket picture above I used 6 different colours and changed the colour combinations for the smaller squares. See diagram for my suggestions for placement if you use different colour variations for your small squares. The large squares are all the same colour sequence.

The large squares are all the same colour sequence but you could choose to use 2 different colour combinations then place them diagonally. Or you could make the blanket all in 2 colours for instance use cream or white as the main colour then use a darker colour like pink for the centre flowers of all squares and then use the contract colour again around the edges of the squares – perhaps the row before the back post stitches which then give the effect of “framing the flower”. You could different colour flowers for each square.
