Potawatomi
Autumn is a second spring, when every leaf is a flower. Welcome fall with this stylish poncho, knit in mainly stockinette stitch with a dramatic cabled border, knit-in fringe and a cozy collar that can button up as a cowl.
Potawatomi is knit flat in one piece from ribbed end to ribbed end with a shaped neckline. The ribbed cowl is picked up and knitted. A single seam runs up one side from ribbing to neckline.
In the original version, thanks to the fringed edging, every row is worked as a right side row, making the stockinette portion purl free! Or knit from the more traditional “inside-the-box” version, back and forth with a dropped-stitch fringe. One purchase gets you both versions, and each gives you the very same result.
