The pattern is worked from the top down in the round until the openings for the spout and handle when is worked in rows.

The Cleckheaton California is a great yarn especially for the punk hair cut on the inside rim of the crown. It has a ‘stand up’ quality unusual in other 8 ply yarns. But this Cleckheaton is really closer to a 10 ply I reckon.

It only required one ball of wool BUT you definitely need the second contrasting ball to give him his ‘je ne sais quoi’.
