Prance Past The Poppies
California Poppies are finicky flowers. They come out only when there is just enough rain. If it is cloudy, windy, or they are moody, they curl up and refuse to show their faces. If you pick them to bring them home, they immediately wilt and leave a sticky sap residue in your hands. But if you get a chance to see fields full of them, it is hard not to dance. But unlike Tulips that you can tip toe through, it is best to Prance Past The Poppies while enjoying their brilliant color.
Knit top down, the ribbing in the cuff blends into the poppy motif. The socks use twisted stitches every other round to shape the leaf motif.
Prance Past The Poppies is a cousin to the Fern Canyon socks. Prance Past The Poppies is inspired by the poppy display that can be seen in Antelope Valley, California.
