“Pretty Distraction” is the first in a five part “extra layer” fall/winter collection. These are fingerless mittens with an allover lace pattern (even the thumb gusset) that can be made in three sizes. My hope is that this design will give you something to knit that entertains you so that you do not think about problems, work, etc….that making the mittens will be a pretty distraction.

The pink Swan Island mittens are made in a size medium. The multi colored Pashmina is also in a size medium. You can make two pairs with the Madelinetosh yarn.

I used double pointed needles but you can easily use 40” circular with the magic loop method of knitting in the round.

The fingerless mittens don’t take long to knit and would be a lovely gift for a teenager, college student, teacher or yourself.
