Pride Like the Wind
Every year as June approaches, I look forward to having another rainbow on my needles. This year’s Pride fundraising design did not disappoint.
This vibrant triangular shawl calls to mind the Inclusivity Pride flag, while its stitch details are reminiscent of the ridged scallops and seafoam of the Washington state coastline where the yarn was lovingly hand-dyed by the creative dyers at Purly Shell Fiber Arts — or perhaps they’re the scales of the shop’s memorable mermaid logo.
Crafted with care and meaning, this shawl transmits good intentions with every stitch. I hope it spreads joy in your life as you wrap yourself or a loved one in its soft and cheerful warmth, all the while benefitting three nonprofits that uplift and support the LGBTQIA+ community.
Proceeds from this pattern’s sales in the month of June are donated to the Trevor Project, the Human Rights Campaign, and Knit the Rainbow.
