Prince of Wales Slipover Vest

Vest featuring stitch pattern, knitted from charts, based on the Fair Isle sweater worn in a famous portrait of HRH The Prince of Wales by John St. Heiler Lander. Slipover vest is worked circularly up to the shoulders in two-color stranding technique. Steeks are made for armholes and neck openings.
Measurements:
- Note: Larger sizes are made using larger needles. For this reason, making a gauge swatch is very important!
- Size A: 41.5” / 105.5 cm chest; 24.25” / 61.5 cm length
- Size B: 44.5” / 113 cm chest; 25.5” / 65 cm length
- Size C: 48” / 122 cm chest; 27” / 68.5 cm length

- Note: Suggested yarn has been discontinued. Pattern requirements are included here for information purposes. Suggested yarn: Jamieson’s 2-ply Shetland (100% Shetland wool, 150 yd / 137 m = 25 g).
- Color A (#106 Mooskit), 4 skeins
- Color B (#524 Poppy), 2 skeins
- Color C (#80 Dark Green), 2 skeins
- Color D (#788 Leaf), 2 skeins
- Color E (#198 Peat), 2 skeins
- Color F (#187 Sunrise), 2 skeins
- Color G (#1160 Scotch Broom), 2 skeins
Needles:
- 24” / 60 cm circular needles in US 2 / 3 mm for Size A; US 3 / 3.25 mm for Size B; US 4 / 3.5 mm for Size C.
- 24” / 60 cm and 16” / 40 cm circular needles two sizes smaller than needles used for body
Gauge: (in Fair Isle pattern on larger needles)
- Size A: 30 sts and 34 rows = 4” / 10 cm
- Size B: 28 sts and 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm
- Size C: 26 sts and 30 rows = 4” / 10 cm
- Note: Gauge determines how your garment will fit. Swatch until you get it right!
