Promenade is a Regency-era inspired pullover with a very scooped neck on a slim bodice, delicately puffy little cap sleeves, an a-line bottom, and a separate linen stitch tie detail.

Construction Notes: This sweater begins just below the bust. The back and front are worked flat up to the shoulders and seamed together along short side seams, and then stitches are picked up from the cast on edge and the lower portion of the sweater is worked down to the bottom edge. Sleeves are worked flat, seamed, and set in to the shoulders. All i-cord edging treatments are worked in the round.

Ease: Intended to fit with 0—2” / 0—5 cm negative ease in the bust. Sample shown is knit in size 38” and worn with 2” negative ease. Please note that the a-line bottom provides an increasing amount of positive ease over the waist, belly, and hips.

Finished Bust Measurements: 32 (34 ¾, 38, 41 ¼, 44, 47 ¼, 50) ” / 81.5 (88.5, 96.5, 105, 112, 120, 127) cm

Yarn: 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5) skeins of Madelinetosh Pashmina, (360 yds / 329 m per 4 oz / 117g skein; 75% Superwash Merino Wool, 15% Silk, 10% Cashmere) in Clover.

Yarn Notes: Please ensure that all your yarn comes from the same dye lot. Even so, you may want to work from separate skeins of yarn, alternating every 2 rows, as the suggested yarn is hand-painted and variations will occur even within the same dye lot. If you are thinking of substituting yarns, please note that the suggested yarn is an ultra soft sport-weight yarn in a merino/cashmere/silk blend. I do suggest working with a yarn in a fiber blend that will give a nice drape - the silk really helps! - and that will not be too tight when knit at the required gauge, so that the pattern details like the puffy sleeves and a-line bottom drape and hang well without any stiffness.
