Proserpine is a half-circle shawl designed to showcase a stunning 4-ply/fingering-weight yarn.

Knitted mostly in easy stocking stitch, the shawl has small, beautiful lace sections that cleverly hide the increases.

Proserpine was inspired by 19th century English poet-artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti and his paintings of ancient myths - including one of Proserpine, the Roman Goddess of Spring. The leaves in the shawl call back to these ancient myths.

The pattern is both charted and fully written out. It was first published in Knit Now magazine as part of their Arts and Crafts issue.
