I was inspired to design this hat because a friend was collecting money to donate to causes that support Black Mental Health. I wanted to create an original design so that I could follow her lead. The title is a hip hop/NY nod. Dome is slang for head and for a fundraiser for mental health, for Black folx, it seemed fitting.

Details: I wanted a hat with plenty of stretch and not too difficult to make. The simple textures are a perfect way to show off a variegated yarn, a solid yarn, or anything in between. The ribbed sections are broken up with a panel of mirrored cables. I designed the cables to wind toward each other. I was thinking, we’re in this together and need to work together to improve the mental health of those around us.

Size: Finished measurements are 18” circumference and 11” tall.

Fit: This yarn is super soft and due to the silk content, the finished piece is a bit slippery and very drapey. Model has a 23” head but the hat has a relaxed fit.

Yarn: ~1/2 skein Lolabean Yarn Co Dream Bean in Give Peas A Chance (approx 250 yds total)

Needle: 1 set US #3 / 3.25mm DPNs or 16” long circular
