This pattern is based on Mariko’s vintage find. It pains us to say it, but the original was made in pure acrylic and didn’t feel as nice as it looked. Use a soft, chunky yarn, double-stranded, and you can crank out one of these in under an hour (including Puff Construction).

There are 288 stitches in the version pictured. Fewer if you are knitting yours for a Basenji or a wrist.
