One of my favourite memories is the first time I saw colourful puffins dotted around the cliffs of Newfoundland – their bright beaks and busy little waddling legs were unforgettable!

This will work fine with any Aran or Worsted yarn in the suitable colours, but I recommend Briggs and Little Heritage as a nice East Coast Canada tie-in :)

• Knit stitch
• Purl stitch
• Knitting in the round (written for DPNs but can also use Magic Loop)
• Increasing stitches (Kfb)
• Decreasing stitches (K2tog, skpo)
