Come play in the Puget Sound! Puget Sound is dotted with forested islands, and the waterways between and around them offer some of the most beautiful vistas in the Pacific Northwest. Can you see these elements in the yoke design?
Puget Sound is an easy and fun pullover to make and to wear. Have fun choosing your color scheme! The colorwork is easy as it uses only one color per round, and the bobbles (islands) are worked all in one round too. Puget Sound could be a great first top-down sweater pattern.
Puget Sound is worked top-down and in the round in a completely seamless manner (unless you choose to sew down the inside edge of a double collar). The yoke construction is a hybrid between circular method for ease of working colorwork and raglan seams for superior fit. Short rows lower the front neckline and also add length to the back hemline for wearing comfort.
Four options are included for finishing the neckline: Crew, Mock Collar (Double), Funnel and Turtleneck. The collar, cuffs and hem band are finished in 1x1 ribbing. Instructions are included for an optional bobble border before sleeve cuffs.
This design really shows off hand-dyed yarns and will look great in any DK yarn with good drape. For mosaic colorwork it is important to have strong contrast between colors and the yarn must be smooth and of the same size. It is optional to “miss” one CC stitch in the yoke and add a sparkly button on top of the MC st. This was an unintentional error that has turned out to be a fun feature.
The pattern has been professionally tech edited and tested. Instructions are included on how to read and work the mosaic colorwork charts.
