Pulmonaria Lace Shawl
This shawl is based on Herbert Niebling’s Round Doily With Cables
published in Frau und Mutter Verlag Wien, Kunststricken Nr. 476
Pulmonaria is a crescent shaped shawl with greater emphasis on the body while the edging is worked in a simple fan-like lace pattern. The body pattern presents a bunch of flowers resembling Pulmonaria blossoms.
This shawl has 170 rows. The size and yardage depend on wether you knit 5 body pattern repeats (5 flowers) or more. the pattern is charted.
Difficulty level – 3 to 3.5 on a scale from 1 to 5.
Getting an exact gauge is not critical for this project.
Yarn recommendations:
Cotton, Linen, Silk, Wool, Merino, either 100 % or in blends. I strongly recommend using only natural fibers.
