Pumpkin
This little Pumpkin makes a fun Halloween decoration, and you can also use it as a pincushion. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the pumpkin is knitted in garter stitch in acrylic DK yarn on single pointed needles (not in the round). The stalk is an i-cord tube worked on two DPNs.
NEEDLES
A pair each of 3.75mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 5)
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; less than 25g in each colour
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and buttons for eyes
SIZES
One size only - The pumpkin is 9cm wide x 7cm tall (including the stalk).
TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and a little seaming to finish.
