The Pussy Hat Holiday Ornament is a pattern perfect for a first-time knitter.

These ornaments are knit flat and sewn up the side. The instructions for both the cast on and the bind off are included in the pattern instructions.

You will use a long-tail cast on; you will use that tail to stitch the side of the hat. When the hat is knit, you’ll fold the rectangle in half (right sides together) and bind off using the three-needle bind off method to close the top of the hat.

The pattern is intended to be worked flat, but it can be knit in the round.

To “make” the ears: glue a ball inside the hat. You can use either a 2” styrofoam ball or an ornament (without a “nub” on top)
