Pusteblume
Dandelion seeds? Little parachutes? Fireworks?
Choose your favourite colour combination to bring out the delicate flower stitches that dance along the back of the hand as if borne by a sudden breath of air ….
The mitts are worked in the round from the cuff to the fingers and feature a thumb gusset for added comfort and freedom of movement.
Beads are added while knitting, and the flower stitches are knit in with a contrasting strand of yarn carried along vertically. Once you have bound off, you will only need to weave in ends – no additional embroidery is involved!
Skills required
Casting on and binding off, knitting and purling in the round over a small circumference, working basic increases and decreases, picking up stitches.
The back of the hand is worked from a chart depicting the position of the beads and flower stitches.
Photo tutorials explain in detail how to place the beads and work flower stitches with a contrasting colour.
