Pylos Knit Hat is double layered with a twisted top. It features a ribbed double brim, followed by a classic stockinette stitch body that is also double layered and finished off by making a twist.

Make it two hats in one by adding another color, pattern or stripes for the other side of the hat!
The twisted top self-closes when the hat is worn as a regular hat. Wear it as a messy bun hat, or take your pony tail out for a walk!

In this pattern you will get patterns for 2 versions of the same design -
1) the regular hat (shown in first pictures - dark grey) with a little bit of positive ease,
2) and the fuzzy version (light grey made in fuzzy yarn - last two pictures) designed to be worn with a bit of negative ease.
Plus - two colorwork charts are added if you choose to add some fun for your double sided hat.

31 sts and 40 rows in 4’’ / 10 cm in stockinette with larger needles

Needles
2 (US) / 2.75 mm 16’’ circular needles for the body of the hat or size to get gauge
0 (US) / 2 mm 16’’ circular needles for ribbing or 2 sizes smaller than your main gauge needles
