Quarwall Triangular Shawl
In 2016 the designer knitted this shawl for the Guild of Spinners, Knitters, Weavers and Dyers’ annual competition. The theme was to make something inspired by patterns in “A Legacy of Shetland Lace” (the Guild’s first book).
The shawl is worked back and forth. The edgings are knitted in one colour, all knit stitch. The central triangle is knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side.
The shawl starts with a small number of stitches which steadily increase throughout. The lace edgings are worked simultaneously with the fair isle part.
No seams!
